Dancing, chatting, munching, and more dancing. The summertime Moth Ball event is always a fun filled night that culminated with the crowning of the new Moth Ball Queen. How you might ask should you dress for a Moth Ball? Vintage dresses, prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses, anything goes that makes you feel like dancing! Even the guys get in on the fun. We've seen gentlemen wearing all sorts of fun attire: a tux jacket and shorts, a t-shirt designed to look like a tux, and a crazy Hawaiian shirt. Not all guests are so adventurous though. It's fine to come wearing whatever feels right for you.
Our Wine Pairing Evening is a wonderful date night. The evening consists of wines that are paired with appetizers, entree, and dessert. Courses are served at cloth-covered tables while you enjoy 5 pairings presented by a sommelier. This highly-successful and consistently-sold out event has garnered a reputation of excellent food, wine, and fun hosted by the Senoia Coffee and Cafe.
A leisurely afternoon awaits attendees at our Tea on the Porch. This event features delicious tea time fare, white tablecloths, fresh flowers, and friendly company. What could be better? How about a Hat Contest? The highlight of every tea is the competition for the fanciest hat in town. So dress up and take a step back in time for a lovely afternoon tea.

Again this year SAHS will present an exhibit to honor Senoia veterans during the Memorial Day festivities in downtown Senoia. Many of the items will be from the SAHS archives, but we are also requesting photos and memorabilia from anyone who would like to honor a loved one on Memorial Day 2015. All items and photos will be returned. Please contact Bob Anderson at 770-599-6412 for more information.
The Society provides the Refreshment Stop during our town’s Candlelight Tour of Homes held on the second Sunday evening in December. This holiday-filled evening, sponsored by the Downtown Development Authority (DDA), starts at 5pm and provides an opportunity to tour a number of historic homes all decked out for the season. Last stop – the museum for refreshments provided by the Senoia Downtown Development Authority (DDA). Society members decorate the museum in a different theme each year and we are proud to be a part of this special December event. The Candlelight Tour of Homes is always held on the second Sunday of December. Tickets are available through the DDA.
A fun evening is always had by all on the night of our auction. It is held in the Meeting Room of the Museum and has been in the capable hands of professional auctioneer Ray Grammar every year. Items differ from year to year but there's always something to bid on! If we're lucky, Laura Dzwigalski's famous cheesecake will be an item this year. Last year it created a bidding war!
